Clothes

  • All clothes should be athletic fabric and wearing layers will keep body temperature consistent while walking
  • T-shirts - long and short sleeves
  • Pants - athletic material
  • Fleece/sweater - Jacket - waterproof and breathable
  • Athletic pants
  • Hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Socks should not be cotton
  • Recommend: Bombas or SmartWools


Shoes

  • Hiking shoes 
  • Waterproof
  • Should be broken in and comfortable to avoid blisters
  • Sandals, or extra shoes to change out everyday after walking

Rain Gear

  

  •  Rain jacket that is waterproof and breathable
  • Optional rain pants
  • Frogger rain gear is good enough - just basic is needed

Day Pack

  •  Small and light to carry snacks, water and rain gear if needed 
  • Rain cover for daypack is recommended 

Personal items

  • Personal toiletries including small soap
  • Medications should be in original bottles
  •  Anyone with health issues should have full medical records from your doctor on a jump or small disc and stored with your personal passport  
  • Travel toilet paper or tissues
  • Small – basic first aid kit
  • Antiseptic cream
  • Alcohol pads

Accessories

  

  •  Walking poles
  • Pilgrims scallop shell
  • Charging cords
  • Ear plugs
  • Spork 
  • Small knife Headlamp or some type of flashlight
  • Water bottle to refill
  • Small towel
  • Sunscreen
  • Camino de Santiago guidebook (recommended - John Brierley)
  • External charger for phone or camera
  •  Debit card
